High Quality Finishes

This Roman Tuscan colonnade served as a permeable spatial separation, primarily between the dining room and horizontal circulation from the Entry into the other spaces of the home.
The finish work over this wood structure was first wrapped from bottom to top, with diamond wire mesh and very close 8” o.c. galvanized screws holding it firmly in place. Three coats of plaster were then applied with four days each of drying time. We then hired an artist (separate from the two painters; one for traditional paint work and one specifically for staining work) to apply a three-color faux finish over it, resulting in high-quality finishes that create an everlasting 3D ‘molded’ effect producing interesting shadows at night from the CRI lighting in the ceiling.
The flooring is six-inch wide x 3/4” thick Hickory Pecan; one of the hardest, most durable, and characteristically beautiful woods found in America. It’s finished with a low VOC, clear, water-based polyurethane.
The pair of entry doors are 3’-0”x8’-0”x2 1/4” thick, custom-designed and built. The hardware is hand-forged Bouvet from France. This style and manufacturer is emulated throughout the home’s interior doors as well. One-of-a-kind custom ironwork design was fabricated on the site and installed as an overlay to the white laminated glass doors.
The wall finishes are three coats of plaster with a hand-troweled Italian finish, followed by a primer and two coats of Farrow & Ball paint, providing consistent high-quality finishes throughout the space.
The windows are Pella Architect Series wood windows with aluminum-clad protection, durability, and low maintenance. They’re double-glazed with Low-E coating. The hardware is premium casement folding, with a finish to reflect the interior door hardware of (Hammered) Pewter.
Best Always
